Monochrome Refraction invites the viewer into an exploration of diverse Australian landscapes, seen through the surreal lens of infrared photography and abstract tonal interpretation. The calendar is a visual meditation on place and perception—where windswept coastlines, mountainous terrains and fertile farmlands are transformed into dreamlike compositions of light and shadow.

The monochrome palette strips away distraction, allowing form, texture and atmosphere to take centre stage, while infrared imaging reveals a hidden spectrum of the natural world, evoking a sense of quiet mystery and altered reality.

Locations include the remote, elemental Flinders Island and Tasmania’s rugged north-east. In Victoria, the calendar explores the rough sea of Bass Strait and the dead-calm of Lake Reeve in the Gippsland Lakes. Further Victorian locations are in the high country north-east of Melbourne and the luminous canola fields between Ballarat and Bendigo. Far-north Queensland is represented by tropical light, re-imagined in ethereal tones.
