Beautifully printed by Bambra Press our first printed card since December 2019 focussed on the splendid shimmery colours of Christmas beetles.
We chose four patterns to sit behind a laser cut shape and printed the inners on both sides. Complementing envelopes completed the theme. Cards were assembled by hand and both given personally to clients and posted out.
We received outstanding feedback with the majority commenting how much they enjoyed receiving a tactile card.
The paper is Sirio Rough Dark Blue 210gsm. The front cover has a gold foil.
Did you know?
Australia has 36 species of Christmas Beetles, 35 of which are endemic. Members of the Anoplognathus genus, they are colloquially known as Christmas Beetles due to their presence during December.
The mature beetles feed on eucalyptus leaves and the larvae prefer roots of grasses, making open woodland the perfect habitat.
The iridescent colours of the beetles shimmer and range from pale brown through rose gold to emerald-green. The King Bettle, found mainly in costal regions of NSW and Queensland has golden green-bronze and metallic rose red.
Christmas Beetle sightings seem to have declined in recent years. In response Invertebrates Australia and the University of Sydney are running a citizen science project to collect data about beetle populations. Consider contributing to the Christmas Beetle Count.
